Born on November 10, 1973, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Agnihotri began his career in advertising and television before transitioning to filmmaking. His directorial debut was Chocolate (2005), followed by several other films, including The Tashkent Files (2019), which earned him the National Film Award for Best Screenplay – Dialogues.
