Driven by her own experiences as a mother seeking safe products for her baby, she launched Mamaearth in 2016 alongside her husband, Varun Alagh. Before her entrepreneurial journey, Ghazal began her career as a corporate trainer at NIIT, Chandigarh, specializing in software applications like Oracle, SQL, and J2ME. In 2012, she ventured into the health and wellness sector with Dietexpert.com, offering personalized diet plans. Her diverse background in technology, art, and wellness laid the foundation for her future success in the beauty industry.​

Under her leadership, Mamaearth expanded its product range from baby care to skincare, haircare, and wellness products, serving millions of customers across India and internationally. The company achieved unicorn status in 2022 and went public in November 2023.​
